Prijesh Kannan is a Guinness World Record Holder in Memory Power. He was born in Payyanur, a town in Kannur district of Kerala, where he currently resides.
Prijesh Kannan received the Guinness world record certificate for the Top Memory Power in the world from Dr. Manmohan Singh (14th Prime Minister of India). He also received the Limca book of record for the Top Memory Power in India, from Oommen Chandy (Chief Minister of Kerala). Prijesh kannan has broken the present record on 23 June 2012.
Early life
Prijesh Kannan was born on 10 January 1988 in Payyanur, Kannur, Kerala. His father, N. T. Kannan, was a notable businessman in Payyanur, and his mother T. P. Yesoda is a housewife. He has an elder sister who is a pharmacist in Kerala.
Right from an early age his talents were noted by his teachers. When he was studying at school he had no habit of taking down notes in a book as he was able to recollect everything after school time. His primary education was at Annur UP School and later he attended the Payyanur High School. Later on he went on to complete MBA from ICM-Kannur
Notable Records
On 23 June 2012, Prijesh was blindfolded and had 470 names read out to him to test his memory power.[1] He was asked to recite the names in ascending and descending order, which he did with surprising ease. For this he was honoured with the Guinness World Records, which was awarded to him by the then Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh.[2] He also received the Limca book of record for the Top Memory Power in India, from Oommen Chandy (Chief Minister of Kerala ).[3]
Personal life
Unmarried, Prijesh’s hobbies include reading, and listening to music. Regarded as an unassuming person with a name for refraining from political and psychological ploys, he dedicates his entire focus on his Memory achievement. This has made him a well-liked figure throughout the memory world.
He has also acted in serials such as Harichandhanam and Sree Krishna. Prijesh is also a trained drama artist, performing various dramas, and has trained in the classical dance form of Bharathanatyam. He has also studied martial arts for 4 years in his childhood.
