Prospero Press is an independent publisher based in London. It was founded in June 2014 with a mission to publish quality writing from established authors who wish to bypass traditional publishers for specific titles.
Prospero Press is run as a cooperative. It allows authors to take control of all aspects of editing and design while enabling them to reach the market in both print and E-book formats.
In a recent interview, Prospero Press founder Mark McCrum said: 'It's about creative freedom and control. As an agent friend recently pointed out, an author now needs to sell a book six times: to their agent, on to the editor at a publisher, in-house to the sales and marketing guys (who call so many of the shots these days), to the reps, to the bookshops, and finally to the public. Prospero Press skips five of these steps' [1]
Publications
The first two titles published by Prospero Press, both thrillers, are Fest by Mark McCrum (July 2014) and The Perfect Corpse by Giles Milton (September 2014).
Prospero Press publications are distributed to high street retailers by Gardners Books.
