Purba Tajpur is a census town in Chanditala II CD Block in Hooghly district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is under Chanditala police station in Srirampore subdivision.[1]

Demographics
As per 2011 Census of India Purba Tajpur had a total population of 7,035 of which 3,487 (50%) were males and 3,548 (50%) were females. Population below 6 years was 710. The total number of literates in Purba Tajpur was 5,423 (85.74 % of the population over 6 years).[2]
As of 2001 India census,[3] Purba Tajpur had a population of 6,276. Males constitute 49% of the population and females 51%.
