R. K. Trivedi

Ram Krishna Trivedi (January 1, 1921 – November 19, 2015) was an Indian politician who was Governor of Gujarat from February 26, 1986 to May 2, 1990.[1] Trivedi also served as Chief Election Commissioner of India from June 18, 1982 to December 31, 1985. He was a recipient of the third highest Indian civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan.[2]

He was the first to introduce voter id cards in Indian Elections. He died in Lucknow in 2015.
