Raccomandata con Ricevuta di Ritorno, Raccomandata Ricevuta Ritorno or RRR, are an Italian progressive rock band.
Career
They released only one LP, the concept album Per... Un Mondo di Cristallo (1973), considered an excellent album in some progressive rock circles . The band spent two years secluded in a monastery of an undisclosed religion perfecting the lyrics and the music. The album tells the story of an astronaut who on returning home finds life on Earth to be extinct.[1]
Vocalist Luciano Regoli and guitarist Nanni Civitenga went on to form the band Samadhi in 1974.[2] Civitenga also released a 1974 record with the hard rock band Crystals, which included members of Banco del mutuo soccorso, Area and Alphataurus.[3] Drummer Froggio Francica played with Procession in 1974 and then briefly with Kaleidon. Later Regoli became a painter, and was the singer of the first few records by the band DGM.
Second phase
In 2010, after a 37-year hiatus, the band released the album Il pittore volante under the name Nuova Raccomandata con ricevuta di ritorno. The CD booklet was decorated by Regoli's paintings.
The band played a concert with Thijs van Leer in 2010.[4] Several live tracks by this constellation appears on the album Prog Exhibition: 40 anni di musica immaginifica, including an extended version of "Il palco di marionette" from the 1973 album.
