Dimitri Leslie Roger (born July 13, 1992),[1] better known by his stage name Rich The Kid, is an American hip hop recording artist and record producer. Rich The Kid has worked with many artists including: Peewee Longway, Young Thug, OG Maco, DJ Carnage, Wiz Khalifa, Frank Ocean, Rockie Fresh, Kirko Bangz, Yo Gotti, Riff Raff, Bobby Shmurda, Soulja Boy, Zaytoven and Fetty Wap.[1][2]
Early life
Dimitri Leslie Roger was born in Queens, New York.[3] He is of Haitian descent and grew up speaking Haitian Creole fluently.[4][5] After his parent's divorce, Roger moved with his mother to Atlanta when he was 13.[5][6] Roger said he grew up listening to, Nas, Jay Z, Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.G. and 50 Cent, but after moving to Atlanta, he started listening to T.I. and Young Jeezy.[5] His first rap name was Black Boy The Kid,[3] but later changed it to Rich The Kid.
Career
In 2013, he released his debut solo mixtape, Been About The Benjamins,[1] and later that year released a collaborative mixtape series with Migos called Streets On Lock (volume 1 and 2), with volume 3 being released in 2014.[1] His second solo mixtape titled Feels Good To Be Rich was released in August 2014, and featured artists Young Thug, Rockie Fresh, Kirko Bangz, Yo Gotti and Riff Raff.[7] In November 2014, Rich The Kid released the single "On My Way" featuring GS9 artists, Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel.[8]
Rich The Kid's first release in 2015 was a collaborative mixtape titled Still On Lock with Migos.[9] In August 2015, he released his first solo project Flexin' On Purpose. The 14-track project featured collaborations with Fetty Wap, Ty Dolla $ign, Rich Homie Quan and Young Dolph.[10] In October 2015, Streets On Lock 4 was released, which contained 27 tracks and features Young Dolph, 2 Chainz and Peewee Longway.[11] Rich The Kid and iLoveMakonnen released Whip It, featuring 8 tracks on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2015, with guest spots from Rome Fortune, Migos, T-Wayne and Key!.[12][13] The next month Dabbin' Fever was released on Christmas Eve 2015, with features from Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y, Kodak Black and Migos.[14] He released his Trap Talk mixtape in April 2016, which features Kodak Black, PartyNextDoor, Ty Dolla Sign, Migos, and 21 Savage.[15]

In March 2016, Rich The Kid started his own record label called Rich Forever Music.[16][17] The label's first artist signed up was Chicago based Famous Dex.[18] Rich The Kid also signed his first producer to Rich Forever Music TheLabCook[19] The record label's first release was a 15-track compilation titled Rich Forever Music: The Mixtape, and featured Famous Dex, Skippa Da Flippa, Lil Yachty and Quavo.[19] Rich Forever Music released their second project Rich Forever 2 in July 2016, a collaborative mixtape between Rich the Kid and fellow labelmate Famous Dex, with collaborations from Jaden Smith, Wiz Khalifa, Lil Yachty, and Young Thug.[3][20]
In June 2016 Rich The Kid signed a deal with 300 Entertainment for 300 to become a parent company for Rich Forever Music.[21]
