Robert Campbell Van Vliet
Brigadier General Robert Campbell Van Vliet (1857 - October 27, 1943) served in the United States Army as the commander of the 87th Division.[1]
Biography
He was born in 1857 in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas to Stewart Van Vliet and Sarah Jane Brown.[1]
He was commissioned a lieutenant by Ulysses S. Grant in 1876, at age 19. He served as commander of the 87th Division starting on November 13, 1917. He retired in 1918.[1]
He died at the Palma Hotel in New Smyrna, Florida on October 27, 1943.[1]
