Robert Lewis Everist (born November 1952) is an English businessman. Born in Enfield Town, North London. His business interest's include childcare centre's, commercial office space, schools, fabrications, and plastic manufacturing.
Everist is also a keen golfer,[1] and regularly sponsors and competes in a number of golf tournaments both in the United Kingdom and abroad. Everist has a handicap of 7.
Career
Along with his partner Susan Emma Mills, the couple own the Childcare Eastmidlands Group, along with Plastimet, a fabrication manufacturer based in Derby, and REC ltd, a commercial property company.[2] Everist has a personal net worth of £34 million, and has 2 children, and 3 step children.
Criticism
In 2009, on its centenary year, Everist closed the Attenborough School, a school which was bought by his Childcare company in 2005.[3] Negative media coverage widely claimed that Everist's company had pressured employees into handing in notice a week prior to closing the business.[4] The same year, Everist and partner Susan Emma Mills started a multi million pound project on their Georgian manor house home, Lound Hall in Bothamsall.
