Rockpages.gr is a website and online music magazine, featuring most of the genres of rock and heavy metal, through CD and DVD reviews, news, concert reviews and musician interviews. Rockpages is the parent and largest of three websites run under the same management: Rockmachine.gr, online rock radio station, playing basically American and European rock music, and RockpagesTV, currently on beta version and to be fully launched in April 2010.

History

Rockpages.gr was founded in February 2003. Started as a self-made effort of a small group of people, but soon evolved to host and publish daily updates, numerous reviews and interviews on a weekly basis. In summer 2008, it got a new logo and a total facelift. Since its launch, Rockpages.gr has grown and is among the 200,000 more popular websites in the world and among the 2,000 more popular in Greece, according to Alexa.[2]

It features numerous interviews and album reviews, from classic rock, hard rock, heavy metal and other subgenres. Key interviews have been with Deep Purple's Ian Gillan,[3][4] Ronnie James Dio,[5] Uriah Heep, Aerosmith's Tom Hamilton, Cheap Trick,[6] Kiss' Eric Singer, Desmond Child, Toto, Anthrax etc. Several articles have been republished on Metal Hammer Greece, notably an Alice Cooper interview in the March 2006, and Rock Hard Greece. Rockpages.gr has been constantly receiving press publicity of its interviews by main rock and metal news portals, like Blabbermouth,[7][8][9][10][11][12] Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles,[13][14][15][16][17][18] Melodic Rock[19] and others.[20][21][22][23]

In 2007 and after the decline of rock radio in Greece, Rockpages.gr launched Rockmachine, an online radio station, playing classic rock and metal songs, but also featuring new releases.

Recently, it has been reported by Rockpages.gr its will to launch a web TV website, featuring interviews, concert and news footage. The beta version is already being tested. On January 23, Rockpages celebrated its 7th anniversary organizing a concert with the renowned Greek metal band Spitfire, gathering 500 people at An Club.

Methods

Rockpages.gr team consists of over 15 rock journalists. Album and DVDs are never rated, because a grade cannot represent the quality and style of an album. The quality or not of them is explained in short reviews. The content of Rockpages.gr is provided in both English and Greek languages.
