Ryan Marlowe B. Fredericks (born 10 October 1992) is an English professional footballer who plays for Fulham as a defender.

Career

Tottenham Hotspur

Born in Potters Bar, England, Fredericks progressed through the club's academy despite injury.[2] Nevertheless, Fredericks signed his first professional contract with the club in July 2010.[3] In July 2011, Fredericks was awarded a new contract at the club.[4]

Fredericks first appeared in the Tottenham's first team when he appeared on the bench as an un-used substitute bench in the fourth round replay of FA Cup, in a 3-1 win over Leeds United.[5] A year later, Fredericks started his first game for Tottenham on 25 August 2011 against Hearts where he played on the right of midfield. He made his debut alongside Tom Carroll and Harry Kane.[6] Fredericks then made his first Tottenham Hotspur appearance in two years, making a start, in the last group stage game of Europa League, where he won a penalty to allow Roberto Soldado converted the penalty successfully to score a hat-trick, in a 4-1 win over Anzhi Makhachkala on 12 December 2013.[7] Then in January 2014, Fredericks signed a contract at Tottenham Hotspur, keeping him until 2016.[8]

Loan Spells and Bristol City

On 10 August 2012, he signed on loan for League One side Brentford.[9] He made his debut the following day in a 1–0 defeat against Walsall in the League Cup.[10] He made his league debut on 18 August, in a 0–0 draw against Bury.[11] He made his home debut on 22 September, in a 1–0 win against Oldham Athletic.[12] Tottenham exercised the right to recall Fredericks to the Tottenham squad on 25 October 2012.[13]

On 17 January 2014, he switched to Championship side Millwall for a three-month loan.[14] He made his début the following day, a home match against Ipswich Town, where he scored the only goal of the game with a lob from the right back position.[15] Just making two appearance, Fredericks’ loan spell at Millwall was extended until the end of the season.[16] Since his debut a Millwall, Fredericks became a first team regular in the right-back position, making fourteen appearance.

On 28 August 2014, Fredericks joined Middlesbrough for a season-long loan.[17] However, Fredericks remained on the sidelined until he was called up to the first team by Manager Aitor Karanka following Damià Abella's injury.[18] His league debut came on 20 September 2014, where he played 90 minutes, against his former club, Brentford and saw Middlesbrough win 4–0.[19] After the match, Fredericks said he delighted to make a winning start to his debut and impressed the club's supporters with his display.[20] Throughout the 2014–15 season, Fredericks find himself in the regular first team until he suffered a thigh injury during a match against Blackburn Rovers and was limped out as a result.[21] As a result, Fredericks was sidelined for a month with an injury.[22] Fredericks made his first appearance from injury, in a 1–0 win over Brentford on 31 January 2015[23] After appearing six times in nine appearance between February and March, Fredericks suffered a hamstring injury, which he sustained during a match against Nottingham Forest on 7 March 2015.[24] After returning to training in early-April,[25] Fredericks remained on the sidelined, even after his return, until making his first appearance from injury came on 25 April 2015, in a 4–3 loss against Fulham.[26] Despite being sidelined, Fredericks went on to make seventeen appearance for the club and returned to his parent club.[27]

Ahead of the 2015–16 season, Fredericks attracted interests with a link move to Rangers[28] and QPR.[29] On 6 August 2015, Fredericks joined Bristol City on a permanent transfer, signing a three-year contract and was given number twelve shirt ahead of the new season.[30][31] Upon joining the club, Fredericks stated the club's "open and attacking" football was the motivation he joined.[32] Fredericks made his Bristol City debut, in the opening game of the season, where he played as a right-midfield before switching to left-midfield, in a 2-0 loss against Sheffield Wednesday.[33] However, just after twenty-six days at the club and making five appearance in all competitions for the club, it was reported that Fredericks was on the verge of leaving Bristol City, citing personal reasons and will be joining an unnamed London side,[34] which later to be revealed as Fulham.[35]

Fulham

He later joined Championship Fulham on a three-year deal on 31 August, with the fee was undiclosed.[36]

Fredericks made his Fulham debut, coming on as a substitute for Ben Pringle in the 62nd minutes, in a 2–1 win against Blackburn Rovers on 13 September 2015.[37] Despite suffering a hamstring injury,[38] Fredericks went on to make thirty-six appearance for Fulham in his first season.

International career

Fredericks previously represented England U19.[39]

Personal life

Fredericks revealed that he excelled in athletics, having been a district champion in the 100m and the triple jump and even offered a scholarships. But Fredericks always maintain his dream to become a professional footballer.[41]
