Søstrene Grene, (which translates to English as "the Branches Sisters", however some sources wrongly translate it to "Green Sisters")[1] is a retail chain established in Aarhus, Denmark in 1973 by sisters Inger and Ruth Grene also called Anna and Clara Grene.
The company has since 1989 expanded rapidly in Europe predominantly using a franchise model and supplies mainly non-food products such as Scandinavian design home accessories, kitchen ware, gifts, stationery and interior furnishings.
During 2015, the company opened 20 new stores in Denmark.[2] Stores are also located in Norway, Sweden, Iceland, France, Spain, The Netherlands, Ireland and Japan.
