Critical response
The album received positive response from music critics as well as the public and topped the charts. Indiaglitz stated 'S3' is a Fast and energetic album and it has all the ingredients for a commercial blockbuster album. Harris does it well for the franchise which looks to break free.[14] Review Board of BehindWoods gave 2.75/5 and claimed 'S3' is a proper commercial album from Harris Jayaraj for Suriya's cop story! An apt album with fast paced songs.[11] Ramesh Kannan of MovieCrow gave 3.25/5 and stated that Harris has given western flavour for the Singam franchise and makes the album easily accessible commercial one loaded with appealing techno.[12] Srivatsan of India Today stated S3 might not be Harris' best work, but definitely not bad either. Having said that, it's a pucca commercial album from the composer. Be it the songs or the theme music, the album has enough scope to pander to the B and C centers[15]
