SKR Engineering College is an engineering college in Poonamallee, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.[1] The institution was established in 2001 by Shri A.M.Srinivasan and Shri K. Ramadoss.
The College is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.

Library
Information Resource Centre (IRC)
The College Library is called as the resource center. It has a collection of books, periodicals and CDs. This collection is expanded and updated each year. The open access catalogue system (OPAC) provides reading and reference facilities for both faculty and students. Online and offline information is offered and new resources are added to provide a holistic and comprehensive service.
A computer based catalogue system provides information on the resources of the College Library. This gives them the updated information on the type and availability of books. In particular, it provides a collection of the most important books cited on the reading list through the Dewey Decimal Classification. The reference room also provides online facilities.
Collection
The resource center has 25000 volumes of books consisting of 16055 titles, 80 National journals and 70 International journals, 400 back volumes, 459 project theses, Non print materials such as CD-ROMs, Floppy Discs, and Bibliographic Databases etc.., are also available at the College Library.
OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue)
The library has fully computerized its most actively used collection, which is searchable through OPAC. The OPAC allows search by author, title, subject, call number, keywords, and Boolean search. The Call Number indicates the location of the book on the self.
Digital Library
The library has subscribed to the following digital libraries. Students can access these from any computer on the campus. IEEE Electronic Library (IEL) online publications for referring IEEE/IEE Publications via Internet.
Online journals
College Library is a Member of the INDEST Consortium. Through the INDEST, the library has subscribed the online journals. IEL online Package (IEEE & IEE): 189 full text journals, back files from 1988 onwards.

The college Library is a member of various library networks, to facilitate sharing of resources. They are:

National service scheme (NSS)
NSS unit of the college enrolls students and organizes social services activities in the campus and nearby villages and conducts camps regularly. Mr Kaliraja AP/ECE is the NSS programme coordinator for the college.
Scholarships
In addition to the scholarships awarded by the Government of Tamil Nadu for BC/SC/ST students, the college has initiated Scholarships of the value to be given to deserving students on merit cum means basis.
Prizes for academic excellence
To motivate the students and to recognize the academic excellence of the students, the management awards every year prizes in the form of books to the students obtaining the first three ranks in the college in each branch of study. The basis for the award is the aggregate marks obtained by the students in both the semester examinations of the year including practical in his or her first attempt.
Industrial visit
Every student is required to undergo Industrial visits starting from the third semester of the programme. Faculties will take the students at least for one industrial visit in a semester.

The cell is organizing campus interviews and career oriented courses for all engineering and post graduate courses. The students were placed in the following companies

Department of Management Studies
About the Department
The department of Management Studies was established during 2006-07. The two years programme is affiliated to Anna University and approved by AICTE with the intake of 60 students.
Mudra
Mudra (Management of unconventional dawn research associates) an association for Management faculties and students founded in December 2006 by the Department of Management Studies, SKR Engineering College. The association is conducting National conferences, Workshops and Seminars for the students, academicians, research scholars, business & corporate people and some of the research articles from such programmes published through book volumes with ISBN. Now the association is publishing a Monthly Management Magazine (Internal) and e-Magazine in the name of MUDRA.
