Safia El Emari (Arabic: صفية العمري), (born Safia Mustafa Mohamed Omari, January 20, 1949 in El-Mahalla El-Kubra[1]) is an Egyptian actress. She was assigned as ambassador of Goodwill with the United Nations in 2007 until her resignation in 2006 as a protest on 2006 Lebanon War.
She began her career as a journalist, after graduating from the Faculty of Commerce. She studied Russian language and worked as an interpreter at international conferences.
She was discovered by the artist Jalal Issa. They got married and have two sons.
