St. Vassa

Saint Vassa (Greek: Αγία Βάσσα) was a 4th-century Christian martyr from Edessa in Greek Macedonia.[1] She and her three children were tortured to death.[1] She is venerated on August 21, by the Greek Orthodox Church[1] and Serbian Orthodox Church.[2] A Maronite synaxarium was dedicated to her.[3]

It must be noted here that the Maronite Synxarion dedicated August 21 to the Holy Martyr Vassa of Edessa and her three children. Vassa was martyred towards the end of the 4th century in Macedonia. Both she and her children were tortured ...
