Sally Jones
Sally Jones, also known as the White Widow[1] or Umm Hussain al-Britani,[2] is a British-born U.N.-designated recruiter and propagandist for the Islamic State (ISIS).[3]
Jones was the wife of Junaid Hussain, the dead British computer hacker (killed 25 August 2015)[4] formerly in charge of recruiting new hackers to ISIS. After Hussain was reported killed by a U.S. drone strike in September 2015, Jones boasted that her husband was killed by "the greatest enemy of Allah."[5]
Jones's activity online falls in line with her role as leader of the secret "Anwar al-Awlaki" battalion’s female wing. In this role, Jones is responsible for training all European female recruits, or muhajirat, in the use of weapons and tactics. These muhajirat are then trained and instructed to carry out suicide missions in the West, according to leaked ISIS documents.[6]
According to the Counter Extremism Project (CEP), Jones has used Twitter to propagandize for ISIS.[7]
