Samuel Lopes da Cunha known as Samuel (born 7 February 1984) is a Brazilian footballer who plays for São Raimundo Esporte Clube (PA).
Biography
Grêmio
A youth product of Grêmio, he signed a 3-year contract in August 2004.[2] He played 5 matches in 2005 Copa do Brasil for Grêmio. That season he also won promotion to 2006 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A as Série B 4th place. In 2006 season he was loaned to Juventude. The loan was pre-matured in July and he was transferred to Avaí. He also extended his contract with Grêmio in August.
Portuguesa
In January 2007 he left for Portuguesa in 1-year contract. At Portuguesa, he was known as Samuel Lopes to disambiguate with his namesake, Samuel, centre-back.
He scored 5 goals in the first 7 games of Campeonato Paulista Série A2, eventually Portuguesa was the champion and promoted to Série A1. he missed rest of the state matches since round 21 and his goals stood at 5, ranked as the equal fourth among teammate (along with Vaguinho). In 2007 Campeonato Brasileiro Série B, he played 5 times.
Vila Nova
He left for Vila Nova on 5 September. Mainly a substitute, he finished as the third with team, winning promotion to 2008 Campeonato Brasileiro Série B.
Paysandu
In January 2008 he signed a contract with Paysandu until the end of Campeonato Paraense. He finished as the runner-up of the second half of the league and the third overall.,[3] which he scored 9 goals in 11 games.[4] He was re-signed by Paysandu in August, until the end of 2008 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C.[4] The team failed to advance to the final stage of Série C (round 19 to 32), and he made his debut in round 11.
Veranópolis
In January 2009 he returned to Rio Grande do Sul, for Veranópolis.[5] The club finished as the fourth place of 2009 Campeonato Gaúcho, but along with two other Gaúcho teams, withdrew to present the state in 2009 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D.
Águia de Marabá
After 6 months inactive in professional football, he joined Nacional de Rolândia but in February joined Águia de Marabá[6] until the end of 2010 Campeonato Paraense. The club offered him another contract until the end of 2010 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C on 12 July.[7][8]
In January 2011, he extended his contract with Águia de Marabá for 1 more year.[9] On 23 February 2011, Lance! reported that Samuel was training with America Football Club and about to register in FFERJ,[10] but the deal never materialized.
