San Agustin, Las Palmas

San Agustín is a sea resort on the south coast of the island of Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain. It is part of Maspalomas, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. The GC-1 motorway connects it with the airport and the province capital Las Palmas.

A substantial part of the residents consists of Swedish expats. Important for the development of San Agustín as the first resort of what would later be known as Maspalomas was the Swedish Employers Association's choice, in the early 1960s, to locate a recreation facility for exhausted managers here. Later the Swedish church and the Swedish school moved in.
