Sandeep Sander (born 18 August 1957 in Copenhagen) is the CEO of SanderMap GmbH Switzerland. Sandeep is also Chairman of the Advisory Boards for Per Falholt Global R&D Advisory Services, TaskLift and Wiredelta and advisor to Chairmen and CEO’s of global corporations. Sandeep is a speaker at Business Schools and conferences [1] about Talent Management and Human Asset Management.[2]
Early life
Sandeep Sander, born from an Indian father, Satinath Mukherji (a scientist who started his career at Novo, now Novo-Nordisk) and a Danish mother, Ida Wolff Sander, lived his childhood in Jyllinge, Denmark, except for two years in Malmö, Sweden. In Jyllinge, he got into sailing when he was 10 years old.
After high school he started studying at Copenhagen Business School, studying part-time and working full-time at Butik Ole, started by Ole Hendriksen, who was also volunteer leader in Jyllinge Sailing Club. Sandeep graduated as B.Com. in Management Accounting in 1980 and B.com in Financial Management in 1981.
After working in some mid-sized organizations he started his first company in 1983 (age 25) and sold it in 1985. That year he started his MBA one-year program at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.[3]
Career
In 1983 Sandeep started Sander Inter Trade that soon after became SIT Water Systems. The company was sold in 1985 and soon after, in parallel with applying for the MBA program at INSEAD, he started Green Food with a business friend. After living in France for two years and finishing the INSEAD MBA, he was hired into Skandinavisk Holding and worked on acquisitions and strategy development until 1988.
In 1989 Green Food was sold and Sander & Company started working with another consulting company and servicing international corporations like Egmont. Sander & Company later on became SanderMap.
In partnership with a global IT-firm [4] SanderMap gained clients like Credit Suisse and Canon. In 1999 the HQ was moved to Cobham, near London. In 2002 SanderMap was sold and in 2003 Sandeep moved back to Denmark.
Sandeep is also contributor to the Danish version of ‘Global Strategy’. George Yip, Systime in 1994 as well as contributor book ‘Brand Leadership: Building Assets in an Information Economy’.[5]
In February 2015 he was invited to join "Innovation for Jobs" Summit (i4J) at Google's HQ to discuss future solutions. His contributions are included in the films "What is the Future of meaningful work" and "What is Employability?"[6][7]
Sandeep Sander has also been Chairman for a number of corporations including Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers hotel and Copenhagen Towers business centre, a real estate company. Crowne Plaza became the first CO2 neutral hotel building in Northern Europe, ready just before COP15, a Global Climate Conference in Copenhagen. In 2013 Sandeep became CEO of SanderMap Pte. Ltd. Singapore. In September 2013 he was an expert speaker on Competence Development and Human Asset Management at the National Conference on Skill Development, Gujarat, India.[8] He has also is a researcher in the area of Human Asset Management. In 2016 he became CEO of SanderMap GmbH Switzerland
Personal life
Sandeep Sander was married to Gitte on 4 June 1988. They have three children; Jacob Sander (born 1992), David Mukherji Sander (born 1994) and Sarah Maria Sander (born 1996).
Sailing has always been an important part of life for Sandeep, first as sailor at international level, then as father to three young sailors and volunteer. Sandeep has been board member of Royal Danish Yacht Club, responsible for the commercial activities and Chairman for Optimist Sailing Team Denmark, the Danish organization for the worlds largest boat class. He is now Chairman of Sailing Denmark, a charitable organization raising funds to youth sailing. .[9]
