Sathaar is an Indian film actor who primarily works in Malayalam films. He made his debut in 1976 with Anavaranam. Even though he started as a leading man, later he became a successful villain as well as character actor. He has also done important roles in the early 80's Tamil films Mayil and Soundaryame Varuga Varuga.

He is in the industry for more than 30 years and made a comeback after a brief hiatus with 22 Female Kottayam.

Family

He is born as nine th child among ten children to Khadarpillai and Fathima at Kadungalloor, Aluva, Ernakulam. His father was a businessman and mother was a housewife. He has four brothers, Salim, Razzak, Mohammed, Abdulla and five sisters, Rasiya, Thahira, Suhara, Amina, Nazeema. He had his primary education from Rajashree S.M. Memorial School, East Kadungallur, Aluva. He pursued M.A. in Malayalam from Union Christian College, Aluva. ^[2]

He was married to actress Jayabharathi in 1979^[3] and their son Krish J. Sathaar made his debut as an actor in acclaimed director Siddique' s Mohanlal starrer Ladies and Gentleman. Sathaar later divorced Jayabharathi and remarried.
