Serpulina innocens, formerly known as Serpula innocens (this is a fungal genus) [2] and formerly as Treponema innocens[3] is a species of bacteria. The other species in this genus is Serpulina hyodysenteriae. Both species however are classified as belonging to the genus Brachyspira,[4] together with Brachyspira pilosicoli. They are thought to be commensal bacteria.
