Servius Cornelius Scipio Salvidienus Orfitus (consul 51)
Servius Cornelius Scipio Salvidienus Orfitus was a Roman senator and a consul of Rome in the year 51.[1] His father Orfitus was a son of Vistilia, a noblewoman who came from a family which held the praetorship.
He was named consul ordinarius in the year 51 as a colleague of the emperor Claudius I.[2] In 62-63, he was named proconsul of the Province of Africa by order of the emperor Nero.
After his mandate in Africa finished, he fell into disgrace and was accused of being a traitor to the emperor Nero in the Senate by Marcus Aquilius Regulus. He was found guilty and executed.
His grandson, Servius Cornelius Scipio Salvidienus Orfitus followed in his footsteps and became consul of Rome in the year 110 under the emperor Trajan.
