Shân Legge-Bourke
Dame Elizabeth Shân Josephine Legge-Bourke DCVO (née Bailey; born 10 September 1943) is a Welsh landowner.
The only child of Wilfred Bailey, 3rd Baron Glanusk, Legge-Bourke inherited Glanusk Park upon his death in 1948. She married Capt. William Legge-Bourke (1939–2009; son of Maj. Sir Harry Legge-Bourke), a Conservative MP for the Isle of Ely, in 1964 and they have three children:
- Tiggy Pettifer (née Legge-Bourke; b. 1965), nanny to Princes William and Harry.
- Zara Victoria Plunkett-Ernle-Erle-Drax (née Legge-Bourke; b. 1966), married Capt. Richard Drax in 1988 and has issue; marriage later dissolved. Richard Drax is the grandson of Admiral The Honourable Sir Reginald Drax, the younger son of the 17th Baron of Dunsany, the grandson of Lieutenant-General The Lord Weeks, and Conservative MP for South Dorset. Zara Drax has continued to use her married name since her divorce.[1]
- Capt. Harry Russell Legge-Bourke (b. 1972) an officer in the Welsh Guards, former Aide-de-Camp to The Lord Guthrie of Craigiebank and Page of Honour to The Queen between 1985 and 1987.
In 1998, Legge-Bourke was appointed Lord Lieutenant of Powys.[2] She was the subject of a BBC Wales series entitled The Lady of Glanusk in 2006.
A Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order (LVO),[3] she was promoted to Dame Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (DCVO) in the 2015 New Year Honours.[4]
