Shankarpalli or Shankerpalli is a mandal in Rangareddi district of Telangana, India.

Geography

Shankarpalli is located at 17°27′05″N 78°07′54″E / 17.4514°N 78.1317°E / 17.4514; 78.1317.[1] It has an average elevation of 560 meters (1840 feet). Shankerpalli Station is located on the Hyderabad Mumbai Railway line. The station assumes significance due to its proximity to the Defence Ordnance Factory (Medak District) around 5–6 km away where IIT, Hyderabad is located. It is a very beautiful place full of trees and nice climate. It is one of the developing towns. Keeping in mind with close proximity to IT corridor, several modern and spacious gated communities such as Subishi, Reliance etc have come up in Mokila. Greenbelt, good corporate schools and low traffic has been attracting younger IT professionals to this side of Hyderabad.

It is 35 kilometers away from Hyderabad.

Indus International School is located in the area. This village is approximately 5 km from IIT Hyderabad Campus. Global Indian International School, Shankarpalli is also located in this area. IBS Hyderabad, a constituent of the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE) a Deemed University as per the UGC Act 1956,[3] is also located in Shankerpalli. IBS is in Donthanapally, Shankarapalli Road and 10 km far from main Shankerpalli.[4][5]

Temples

The Kalimatha temple near Bulkapur village is considered as very powerful temple in this place. This temple is known for celebration of bonalu, Sai Baba Temple, Hanuman temple in shankar pally, and famous Ellamma (Ammavaru) temple in mahalingapuram village and raja rajeshwari temple in chinna shankarpally a very powerful god this temple have a history.
