Shincheonji, Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (SCJ), commonly known as Shincheonji (Korean: 신천지, Hanja 新天地, "new heaven and earth") is a religious organization, accused of being a cult established on March 14, 1984 in South Korea by cult leader Lee Man-hee.
Shincheonji Activities
Shincheonji is a controversial organisation frequently accused of being a cult[1][2][3][4][5][6][7] It has also operated various other volunteer groups, some of which have been accused of being front organizations, including Mannam Volunteer Association (MVA), Mannam International Youth Coalition, International Peace Youth Group (IPYG), International Women's Peace Group (IWPG), and Heavenly Culture, World Peace, and Restoration of Light (HWPL).[8][9][10][11]
