Simone Stortoni (born 7 July 1985) is an Italian professional road bicycle racer, who last rode for Androni Giocattoli–Sidermec.[2]
Born in Chiaravalle, Stortoni has competed as a professional since the 2009 season, competing for the CSF Group–Navigare team until the end of 2011, when he joined the Lampre–ISD squad for the 2012 season.[3][4] Stortoni has competed in three Grand Tour events, contesting the Giro d'Italia in both 2010 and 2011 before making his Tour de France début in 2012. At his first Giro, Stortoni finished second during stage eight, after being the closest challenger to Chris Anker Sørensen on the climb to Monte Terminillo.[5]
After his contract with Lampre–Merida was not renewed, Amore & Vita–Selle SMP announced that they had signed Stortoni in May 2014.[6] Subsequently, he signed a one-year contract with Androni Giocattoli for the 2015 season.[2]
