Sir Walter Yonge, 2nd Baronet
Sir Walter Yonge, 2nd Baronet (c. 1625 – 21 November 1670) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons variously between 1660 and 1670.
Yonge was the son of Sir John Yonge, 1st Baronet, of Colliton and his wife Elizabeth Strode, daughter of Sir William IV Strode (1562-1637) of Newnham[1] and educated in Leyden and the Inner Temple.
In 1659 Yonge was elected Member of Parliament for Honiton[2] and in 1660 for Lyme Regis in the Convention Parliament.[2] He inherited the baronetcy on the death of his father in 1663. In 1667 he was elected MP for Dartmouth and sat until his death in 1670.[2]
Yonge married Isabel Davie, daughter of John Davie of Creedy, Devon. Their children included Walter (1653–1731), who succeeded him in the baronetcy.[1]
