SmartAsset is a personal finance technology company headquartered in New York, New York[1] that uses financial modeling to power advice on major financial decisions. The company provides personalized, automated answers to complex financial questions, such as How much house can I afford? SmartAsset started with home buying[2] and has since expanded to include tools for refinancing, student loans, retirement, life insurance, banking, credit cards and startup economics.[3] SmartAsset also provides credit scores and credit monitoring through the SmartAsset 360 product. They regularly release research studies featuring data analysis on topics like Best Cities for Women in Tech[4] and Most Affordable Places to Live.[5]
SmartAsset launched in July 2012 by CEO Michael Carvin and CTO Philip Camilleri as a Y Combinator startup company.[6]
Investment and Finances
SmartAsset has raised $7.6 million in funding. Investors include Y Combinator, Javelin Venture Partners, North Bridge Venture Partners, Denis Grosz, SV Angel, Brendan Wallace, Quotidian Ventures and others.[7][8]
Events
SmartAsset launched a free mobile application[9] available for iPhone and Android in April 2014 at Finovate.[10]
