Soliera is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Modena in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 40 kilometres (25 mi) northwest of Bologna and about 9 kilometres (6 mi) north of Modena. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 14,056 and an area of 51.1 square kilometres (19.7 sq mi).[1]
The municipality of Soliera contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Sozzigalli, Castello di Sozzigalli, Secchia, Limidi, and Appalto.
Soliera borders the following municipalities: Bastiglia, Bomporto, Carpi, Modena, San Prospero.
