Springdales School is a group of English-language co-educational schools run by the Springdales School Society in New Delhi, India.
There are five branches of the school: at Pusa Road, Dhaula Kuan, Jaipur Kirti Nagar and now in Dubai (the last is only for primary education). The schools are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).[1] The school was inaugurated by former Indian president Dr Zakir Hussein.
History
The first branch of the school was founded by Dr. Rajni Kumar, who is a recipient of the fourth highest civilian award by the Indian government, Padma Shri out of her own premises in East Patel Nagar, New Delhi, on September 1, 1955.[2] Subsequently, Springdales School Pusa Road and Kirti Nagar (in 1963 and 1966 respectively) were established. The Dhaula Kuan branch opened in 1984. In 2007 another branch was opened at Sushant City, Jaipur.
Foreign languages like German, French,Russian, Spanish and Indian languages like Sanskrit are on the academic curriculum.
“Vasudhaiva Kutumbukum” which translated from Sanskrit means “The World is a Family” is the motto of Springdales.
Current status
The school is a member of the National Progressive Schools' Conference. It was ranked as the fourth best school in India by the Hindustan Times. The Pusa Road branch is the oldest and largest of the three branches and also the second best school in central Delhi, while the Kirti Nagar branch provides education up till the second standard. Children from the Kirti Nagar branch move to the Pusa Road branch on entering the third standard.
Partnerships
The school of Pusa Road has partnerships across the globe, including schools from Australia, Great Britain and Germany. It has exchanges of staff and students. A language lab has been made in this branch.[3]
Foreign Branches
A new branch was opened in 2013 at Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai.[4]
