Sreekandan Nair is an Indian television anchor. He has hosted several Malayalam TV shows such as Oru Nimisham, Nammal Thammil, Janata Ki adalath, Samadooram. He was presenter in Doordarshan, Content Head & Senior Vice President of Asianet in Kerala sector, Consultant to Entertainment Television Operations of Mazhavil Manorama. He introduced the Path Breaking Show like Idea Star Singer.[1] He is currently running talk show named as Sreekandan Nair Show in Flowers TV Channel[2][3]

Family and early life

Born in Kollam district in Kerala as the son of late N Raman Pillai & Janaki Amma in 1959. After secondary education in nearby schools in the village went to University of Kerala for higher studies and Passed MA & M Phil from there.[4]

Career

Sreekandan Nair started his career in Print as a freelancer for the News Papers and Magazines published from Kerala. Later, in 1983, joined as Lecturer in Sree Keralavarma College in Thrissur. Later In 1984 he joined All India Radio as a Programme Executive and worked there for 18 years.Then selected as the presenter of Oru Nimisham,a humorous stuff in the initial years of Doordarshan, Trivandrum which was a Television hit from the first episode itself.
In 2003 he joined Asianet telecommunications Later launched first ever most famous Talk Show ”Nammal Thammil” and continued its anchoring for 17 years in Asianet.[5] He also conceptualized and produced several of the top rated shows on Malayalam television, expanding the reach of the Asianet channel and its operations across continents. Continued till September 2010 as the Senior Vice President of Asianet.[6] Then moved to Mazhavil Manorama as the consultant. Now with Flowers TV as the Managing Director and Anchoring Talk Show 'Sreekandan Nair Show' in same.[7]
