Standish-Sterling Community Schools

Standish-Sterling Community Schools is a public school district in the U.S. state of Michigan serving kindergarten through 12th grade. The district draws approximately 1,800 students from Arenac County and the cities of Standish and Omer, and the areas of Alger, Pinconning, Bentley, and Sterling.[1] The district includes Standish Elementary School (K to 5), Sterling Elementary School (K-5), Standish- Sterling Middle School (6-8), and Standish-Sterling Central High School (9-12).[2] They strive to give each and everyone of their students an excellent education.

Standish-Sterling Middle School was the previous Standish-Sterling Central High School from 1959 to 2001, when a new Standish-Sterling Central High School was constructed about 1/4 mile to the northeast. Standish Elementary School is located at the previous site of Standish High School.

The mascot of the schools is the panther.

The Standish-Sterling school district has a variety of sports to offer. Some include; football, boys and girls basketball, swim, boys and girls cross country (Boys Cross Country won Conference in 2014 and 2015, and went to the state meet in 2015) boys and girls soccer, baseball, softball, cheer, and dance team.
