Stephen G. Bassett
Stephen G. Bassett is the first, and only, extraterrestrial life (ET) lobbyist in the United States, treasurer of the political action committee Extraterrestrial Phenomena Political Action Committee and executive director[1] of Paradigm Research Group (PRG)[2] that says it wants end to end the governments imposed truth embargo regarding the facts of ET's engaging the human race.
Bassett’s involvement with ET political activism began in 1996 when he worked as a volunteer for Harvard Medical School's Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer professor John Mack's Program for Extraordinary Experience Research.[3]
Also in 1996, Bassett registered as Washington D.C.'s first ET issue lobbyist[4] (which he remains the only one) and in 1999 set up his political action committee Extraterrestrial Phenomena Political Action Committee.[5]
In 2002, Bassett ran as an independent for the United States Congress in Maryland's 8th congressional district on a pro-ET disclosure platform,[4] but lost receiving just 1% of the vote.[6]
In 2013, Bassett’s Paradigm Research Group sponsored the April 29th to May 3 Citizen Hearing on Disclosure held at Washington D.C.’s National Press Club where expert witnesses gave sworn testimony to 5 former US congressmen and one former US senator alleging that the facts regarding ET’s were being covered up.[3][7][8]
