Subex Limited is a global provider of Business Support Systems (BSS) for Communications Service Providers (CSPs) headquartered in Bangalore, India.[2] The company pioneered an integrated approach to the monitoring, measurement and control of a communications service provider's revenues through an end-to-end infrastructure which it calls the Revenue Operations Centre (ROC).[3]
History
Subex Ltd was founded by Subash Menon and Alex PJ in 1992 with $400 primarily as a fibre optics company. However, the company soon shifted focus into telecom fraud prevention software.Since its inception, Subex has expanded both organically and through multiple acquisitions.[4]
Subex went public in 1999 and was listed on the Indian Stock Exchange with market capitalization of USD 5 million.[5] The company was subsequently listed in London Stock Exchange in 2007.
In 2009 the company started the Managed Service platform, which was followed by RocCloud and Analytics Platform.The company launched its Fraud Management software at the Mobile World Congress in 2000 and entered international markets like South East Asia, Africa and Middle East. A year later, in 2001, Subex entered the North American market with the acquisition of Magardi Inc.[6]
Subex began its Managed Services offering in 2009 and in 2010 started delivering on a SaaS model.[7] According to Gartner, Subex remained the market leader for Revenue Assurance and Fraud Management for 4 consecutive years from 2007 to 2010. The company was also declared as the leaders in Financial Assurance by Frost & Sullivan in 2012.[8]
Subex Founder Subhash Menon[9] left Subex in 2012. The company is currently headed by Surjeet Singh.
Events
Every year, Subex hosts User Conference for its customers and independent guests from the telecom industry at locations around the world. The last Subex User Conference was hosted at Istanbul in November 2014, Turkey in November 2014.[10] and witnessed a turnout of over 150 attendees from 60+ operators across the globe.
Subex also participates in the major industry events like the Mobile World Congress,[11] AfricaCom[12] and TW each year.

- Azure Solutions, Revenue Assurance Company in 2006. Azure and SHERIFF were spun out from British Telecom. Azure was later acquired by Subex.[14]
- Sotas, Fraud Management Business in 2006[15]
- Syndesis, Canada in 2007[16]

Subex is headquartered in Bangalore, India. Branch offices are located in the United States, the United Kingdom and Singapore with regional offices in Dubai, Ipswich (UK) and Sydney.[17]

- Subex and Telstra awarded the Global Telecoms Business Innovation Awards 2014 under the ‘Business Service Innovation ’.[18]
- Subex awarded 2012 Global Communications Service Provider Financial Assurance Market Share Leadership Award by Frost & Sullivan. Subex’s product line market acceptance, overall global revenue in the four regions namely Asia Pac, EMEA, CALA and NA.[19]
- Subex has been awarded the Global Telecoms Business Innovation Award for 2011 along with Swisscom for industry’s first successful Risk Reward Share model for fraud management.[20]

- ISO 27001:2005 - Subex is ISO 27001 certified and treats sensitive information with highest priority.[23]
- Oracle Gold Partner - Subex's ROC Revenue Assurance and ROC Fraud Management are tested, tuned and optimized for Oracle Exadata.[24]
- TM Forum Business Metrics - ROC Revenue Assurance is certified by the Business Metrics Automation Certification program, for product conformance to the industry-standard TMForum Business Metrics.[25]
- GSMA – Subex is an Associate Member of the GSMA and a key contributor to discussions in their Fraud and Security Group and other discussions.[26]
