Takaro
Takaro is a suburb and constituent ward of Palmerston North, Manawatu-Wanganui, New Zealand.
Population, features
Takaro is located east of Highbury, west of Palmerston North Hospital Area and north of the CBD. It had a resident population of 5,253 (2013), making up 6.6% of Palmerston North's population .
Takaro Bowling Club and Takaro Tennis Club provide some leisure relief here. The Masonic Court rest-home facility along with Rose A Lea and Palmerston Manor retirement homes also being Takaro.
There is one school in Takaro: Our Lady of Lourdes School[1]

Takaro Ward
Takaro Ward is located in the NW of Palmerston North City. The boundaries of the ward are generally considered to be Rangitikei Street in the E, and just before Cloverlea Road in the W. To the S, Pioneer Highway and to the N, the N.I.M.T.
