Takase Shrine (高瀬神社 Takase-jinja) is a Japanese Shinto shrine in Nanto, Toyama.[1]

History

The shrine was established in the reign of Emperor Temmu[2]

This place is special to the kami named Takase-no-kami[3] or Ookuninushi no ookami (大国主神).[1]

Takase was the chief Shinto shrine (ichinomiya) of the old Etchū Province. It serves today as one of the ichinomiya of Toyama Prefecture. [4]

In the system of ranked Shinto shrines, Takase was listed among the third class of nationally significant shrines or Kokuhei Shōsha (国幣小社).
