Telesom is a privately held telecommunications company headquartered in Hargeisa, the capital of the northwest region in Africa country Somalia
Overview
Telesom was established in 2002.[1]
The company operates in all of the Somaliland region's constituent provinces, where it has the widest coverage network. Telesom is a services oriented company. It has introduced several successful ventures, with its cores services being GSM, Landline, Internet, GPRS/3G and Mobile Money Transfer (ZAAD services).
The firm has over 1,000 shareholders.
Products and services
Telesom provides a variety of mobile communication products and services. It offers prepaid call plans, monthly subscription plans, International Roaming, MMS, WAP (over both GSM and GPRS), residential fixed line services, and broadband internet plans. As of July 3, 2011, the firm also provides 3G services to both prepaid and postpaid subscription customers.

International Roaming Service
Telesom has roaming connection agreement with more than 60 Operators across the globe, mainly US based AT&T Mobility - CG, Etihad Etisalat Company in Saudi Arabia, Djibouti Telecom, Etisalat United Arab Emirates, Ethio Telecom among others, more importantly, Telesom subscribers can enjoy roaming service with their prepaid chip with out any requirement set ahead, thousands from Somaliland to Haj take their phones with them to remain in connection with their beloved families and friends in home country
Aqoon-maal
Aqoon-maal is one of most interesting services provided by Telesom designed for youth interested in Education, Sports and more, people living in remote also use this service as major source of local news updates, like livestock, food and other basic commodity prices.
Dara Salam Bank
Dara-Salam Bank is a subsidiary of Telesom Company. The Dara-Salaam Bank was created in 2010, before its inception the bank was know as salaam Financial Services. Currently the bank has branches in all the major cities of Somaliland.[2]
