The Cairos are a Brisbane musical group currently signed to Island Records Australia.[1] The band formed in Brisbane in 2007. The group currently consists of members Alistar Richardson on vocals and guitar, Alfio Alivuzza on guitar, Reuben Schafer on bass and Jacob Trotter on drums.[2] After multiple singles & EPs, the band entered Byron Bay 301 Studios with renowned producer Nick Didia and recorded their debut album Dream of Reason which was released in May 2014.[3][4]
History
Formation (2007-2009)
Alfio Alivuzza, Alistar Richardson, Sean Caskey & Dan Koyama formed the band first in 2007 whilst they were completing their final year at Brisbane State High School.
Triple J attention / Touring
Since coming to prominence with the help of Australian Radio program Triple J The Cairos have undertaken an almost non stop rigorous touring schedule. More Recently the band has embarked on its most ambitious tour yet. The "Dream of Reason Tour" visited the likes of China, Nepal, England, France, Italy and finishing In New York City where the band performed at CMJ
The Future / Recording Studio
Upon completion of the ""Dream of Reason Tour" the band has begun work building a recording studio near Boonah where they plan to spend time writing and recording.
Previous Band Members
The band has seen several formation changes with former members going on to forge successful musical careers. These include: Sean Caskey and Dan Koyama (Last Dinosaurs) and BC Michaels (Dune Rats)
