The Magic Snowflake (original French title L'Apprenti Père Noël et le flocon magique) is a French animated film made by Gaumont Animation in 2013. This full-length animated feature film was co-produced with Snipple Animation[1] and Dapaco Productions. This is a sequel from the animated film Santa's Apprentice.
Plot
It all started where a little boy wrote a letter to Santa Claus that he wants a remote control flying bug. After writing a letter, he mailed the letter to the North Pole. At the North Pole, an Inuit Eskimo boy named Tim-Tim pick up the mail to deliver it to Santa's Workshop. Beatrice Lovejoy picks it up but she won't allow Tim-Tim to take a peek inside.
Santa is about to make his rounds, but Mrs. Lovejoy close the roof so that she reminds him to celebrate his retirement at Sydney, Australia. Santa gives Santa's robe and hat to Nicholas and all the elves congratulate him on being a New Santa even little Beatrice. After Santa and Mrs. Lovejoy left, Nicholas takes over the workshop and receives a letter from the little boy that he wants a remote control flying bug. Tim-Tim secretly enters the workshop and Beatrice notices him and decides to show him around. Nicholas has asked Tim-Tim why is he in the workshop and ask him to Leave, but Beatrice decides to show him more. On board the airplane, Santa was worried about Nicholas a little as Mrs. Lovejoy convinces to Santa to remind of something. He pulls his rabbit and hugs it to his heart.
The next morning, when Nicholas woke up, he feels something strange on his face as the white hair appears. He gets rid of it and shaves it but the white hair appears. He makes a remote control flying bug which turns out to be a fiery bee and damage the workshop a little as the elves stopped it. He told to Beatrice about what happened and he saw Tim-Tim again and his voice is deepened as he felt it what happened and angers Tim-Tim to leave and then he left through Rufus's door. Beatrice seeing what happened to Nicholas as she goes with Waldorf to a room to ring the emergency bell to call the Council of Retired Santas to explain what happened. At the Daffodil Orphanage, Santa and Mrs. Lovejoy meets with the Director of the Orphanage Mr. Ratchet and Santa asks him for a job, but Mr. Ratchet refuses the offer and asks Santa to leave. Santa hears something at the Orphange fireplace and he goes up there and lands in Santa's workshop with the Retired Santas.
Nicholas and Beatrice explains what happened to Santa, the Council of Retired Santas and the Victorian Santa knows that Nicholas has Grown-up-allosis. Santa asks the Victorian Santa to take over the workshop till Nicholas is cured. Santa takes Nicholas to the basement to find the magic snowflake that was melted and then to the snow field as Nicholas saw a door marked 24. Santa explains to Nicholas that it is the advent calendar doors. Nicholas enters door 24 and he saw Nicholas in the future. Though future Nicholas were worried with his co-workers about plummiting sales and such. Nicholas and Rufus found a mouse marked 7 as they exit door 24. At Santa's workshop, Beatrice shows Victorian Santa a handheld game and he realizes that it doesn't exist in Victorian era.
Back at the advent calendar, Nicholas shows Santa a mouse with number 7 and says that it is the next door to enter. He then enters door 7 and meets with Tim-Tim and his mother the Shaman. The Shaman explains to Nicholas is to find door 3 near bear mountain that leads to the past. Nicholas told Santa about the last door to enter near bear mountain then Nicholas sees door 1. Santa warns Nicholas not to enter the door but Nicholas ignored Santa's warning and enters it anyway. Seeing Baby Nicholas with his parents and boarding the ship as Nicholas tries to stop them but it was too late. After he exits door 1, the advent calendar doors collapse as Nicholas now has a beard and Santa asks Nicholas that door 3 still works if he can find it. So Nicholas and Rufus goes to bear mountain to find door 3 as Santa returns to Daffodil Orphanage.
Back at Santa's workshop, Victorian Santa converts toys to bricks and Beatrice notices this and asks the Victorian Santa why, he explained to Beatrice that kids will use imagination for bricks to use anything they can come up with. Beatrice knowing that Victorian Santa does this, he locks Beatrice in a toy production room till after Christmas Eve. Back at the Orphanage, Santa picks up the bunny and entertains it to Zoe, a little girl at the orphanage till Mr. Ratchet sees this and Santa takes Mr. Ratchet and Zoe to the fireplace to the ship at the North Pole. Mr. Ratchet knows how to steer the ship. They finally arrive at Santa's workshop and seeing Victorian Santa making bricks instead of toys and tries to convince him to revert it back but he locked Santa, Mr. Ratchet and Zoe into the toy production room as Waldorf barely escapes and goes to find Nicholas.
At the snow, Nicholas and Rufus sees bear mountain as he runs and slides down the snow and his beard is starting to fade away little by little, slowly but surely as the magic snowflake restores. He finally arrives at the base of bear mountain and Shaman's magic revealed door 3 as he hears Waldorf calling. Nicholas finally enters door 3 and sees himself when he was 3-years-old at the orphanage. Nicholas figured it out that his Teddy bear was a toy that Santa gave to him when he was 3. Nicholas hugs his teddy bear to his heart and gives it back to his 3-year-old self and exits door 3 and Nicholas's Grown-up-allosis is cured. He and Rufus rides on Waldorf to Tim-Tim's house in the Eskimo Village and Shaman congratulates Nicholas on succeeding his tasks. Nicholas invites Tim-Tim to Santa's workshop and apologizes for yelling. Nicholas, Tim-Tim, Rufus and Waldorf goes to Santa's Workshop as Tim-Tim distract the elves. Then, as Nicholas unlocks the door to the toy production room and explains to Santa. Victorian Santa notices this and locks them in the toy production room as well along with Tim-Tim.
Nicholas comes up with a plan to make little boy's Christmas wish come true, so Nicholas makes a remote control butterfly and uses a pencil as a lock pick to unlock the door of the toy production room and they are free at last. Nicholas rides on Waldorf to stop the Victorian Santa. When Nicholas sees Victorian Santa, he convinces to change his ways and makes him turn around back to the workshop. Then Nicholas takes a fall and Victorian Santa apologizes to himself and feeling sorry about it. Eventually, Nicholas comes back alive with a butterfly wings he made to a child and the sleigh returns to the workshop.
Nicholas, Beatrice, Humphrey and Santa converts the bricks back into toys and only to find that there is 2 hours left to make Christmas delivery around the world and Nicholas convinces them to use the butterfly wings to speed things up. They make a speedy Christmas delivery around the world and delivers the remote control butterfly to a child who wanted it for Christmas. Everything is successful as Santa's workshop now allows children to visit. Victorian Santa has kept his promise and provides Christmas dinner to Santa, Nicholas, Beatrice, Mr. Ratchet, Zoe, Waldorf, Humphrey and Tim-Tim. Mrs. Lovejoy enters the room and figures why Santa wasn't in Sydney. Santa explains to Mrs. Lovejoy about what happened and Mr. Ratchet sees what Santa did all along and finally offers Santa to run the Orphanage. Everyone including Mrs. Lovejoy enjoys Christmas Dinner. At the basement, the retired Santa's still playing a choosing game to deciding themselves under the magic snowflake as the film ends.

Release
This movie was first released in France on 20 November 2013. The English version had a limited release in Canada on 30 November 2013. This movie was released in the United States and was planning to release in the U.K. by The Weinstein Company.[2][3] On December 20, 2015, The Magic Snowflake was available on Netflix USA until after December.[4] the U.K. release date is not set as of yet.
DVD Release
On 1 November 2016, The movie was released on DVD in the US as a Double Feature with Santa's Apprentice. [5]
