The Rickshaw Project
The Rickshaw Project (TRP) works to enhance on-road access of persons with disabilities through sustainable mobility solutions and advocacy.[1] It is the brainchild of Network of Organization Working for People with Disabilities, Pakistan (NOWPDP)[2] NOWPDP is an initiative of Aga Khan National Council. This program was initiated with the development of the first accessible rickshaw in the region that can be driven by persons with disabilities. These rickshaws are now available in market through a commercial partner. The Rickshaw Project is now working to develop the most accessible cycle that can enable the inclusion of persons with physical impairments under minimal cost.[3] Amin Amir Andani, who is a leading social entrepreneur leads this initiative [4]
