Tote Tasmania Pty Ltd was a Tasmanian state-owned company, with its shares being held by the Treasurer and Minister for Racing of Tasmania. It had an exclusive right to conduct pari-mutuel (totalizator) wagering in the state of Tasmania.[1] The company was privatised and sold to Tatts Group for AU$103 million and merged into their operations in 2012.[2] In 2015 Tatts Group combined all of its TAB brands, including The Tote, into a single wagering business called UBET. UBET operates horse, harness, greyhound racing and sports betting via a network retail outlets and nationally via ubet.com.
