Truth Serum is the debut extended play (EP) by Swedish recording artist Tove Lo. It was released in Sweden as a digital download on 3 March 2014. The EP includes the singles "Habits (Stay High)" and "Out of Mind". The EP has peaked at number 13 on the Swedish Albums Chart.

Singles

• Love Ballad" was released as lead single on 15 October 2012. "Out of Mind" was released as the second single from the EP on 16 October 2013. "Habits (Stay High)" was released as the third single from the EP on 6 December 2013. The song peaked at number 10 on the Danish Singles Chart. It peaked at number 6 on the UK Singles Chart.

The album scored 6/10 at NME where they described the album as a 'society questioner' from the phrase of the single "Habits (Stay High)": 'Her persona of 'mandatory unstable coke-head at a party' sees the Swede rarely mincing her words when detailing the minutiae of her fraught personal life, and any pop star willing to open their lead single with the line “I eat my dinner in a bathtub, then I go to sex clubs” ('Habits') is clearly out to upset the status quo.'^[3]

Writing style

Tove's writing style is influenced by her own life experiences. The album is a story of a relationship she had from beginning to end. From the highs as heard in "Not on Drugs" to the lows in "Habits (Stay High)", intertwining the experience as to be listened as a whole.^[4]
