Tung Chan
Tung Chan (born 1952) is a Hong Kong-born Canadian philanthropist, columnist and businessman. He was the chief executive of S.U.C.C.E.S.S.. and a Vancouver city councillor from 1990 to 1993.[1][2][3][4][5]
Biography
Chan was born in Hong Kong and immigrated to Canada in 1974 and eventually settled in Vancouver. In Hong Kong, he worked as a stockbroker and floor trader and his personal assets were wiped out by a stock market crash in 1973. He worked as a waiter at the Terminal City Club in Downtown, Vancouver. He received a B.A. in sociology from the University of British Columbia, and joined TD Bank Financial Group in 1978 and was district VP in all 17 TD Canada Trust branches.[6] He also worked as a bartender, a radio program producer.[7][8]
In his spare time, Chan is an avid reader, swimmer, and traveller. Chan holds a General Management Diploma from the Institute of Canadian Bankers.[9][10][11]
