Upsilon1 Ceti

Upsilon¹ Ceti (U Ceti), is a star located in the constellation Cetus. Upsilon¹ Ceti is also known as 59 Cet, and HD 12274.

Upsilon¹ Ceti is an K7III Giant star with an effective temperature of 3900 Kelvin. It has an apparent visual magnitude of +4.0, and an absolute visual magnitude of -0.835. It is located 300 light years from the Sun, and has a mass of 1.4 solar masses, and is estimated to be 50 solar radii, as recorded through direct angular measurement.
