Valery Pustovoitenko (born 23 February 1947) was confirmed as prime minister of Ukraine on 16 July 1997. Pustovoitenko was Ukraine's eighth prime minister.^[1] He resigned in connection with Leonid Kuchma's re-election for a new term.^[2] He is a former leader of the People's Democratic Party of Ukraine.^[3]
