Vanam Vari Krishnapuram (Telugu:వనం వారి కి్ష్ణాపురం) is a village in Mudigonda mandal, Khammam district, located 23 km from Khammam, the headquarters of the Khammam District of Andhra Pradesh, India.

Introduction

Vanam Vari Krishnapuram is one of the big village in mudigonda mandal in Khammam district. It is located along the Khammam-Vallabi mainroad.Vanam Vari Krishnapuram is surrounded by lot of villages, of which Vallabhi and Bhanapuram are the other biggest villages. The main occupation of the people here is Agriculture. It is also featured with a rural police station in mudigonda. There are huge agricultural families here. The tourist spots of the Vanam Vari Krishnapuram are the Sri Anjeneyatemple, and Sri Rama Temple in Mutharam. It is a historical place.

Educational Institutions

Apart from State-owned Mandal Parishad Primary School(up to 5th class)and Zilla Parishad High School (from 6th - 10th class), many other private schools are located in nearby villages/towns viz. Ravindra Bharati School, Ammapet; St.Ann's High School, Mudigonda etc. For Intermediate and higher education students have to travel to either Mudigonda or Khammam.

Agriculture

The main occupation of people is Agriculture. Major crops are Paddy, Cotton and Mirchi. Of late, people are also growing other commercial crops like Subabul, Sugarcane and fruit plantations like Mango and Coconut. Some years back Sunflower was also grown in the village but owing to low profit margins, its no more cultivated. Major chunk of water for agriculture is drawn from Nagarjuna Sagar Dam's left canal (a.k.a. Lal Bahadur Sastri Canal)/N.S Canal which flows through the village. Some other sources are irrigation wells and Vanam Vari Krishnapuram Cheruvu which itself draws water from N.S Canal.

Places or Religious Worship

Hanuman,Mutyalamma,Saibaba are two major temples in the village. Rama Navami & Vinayaka Chavithi are celebrated on a grand scale and almost everyone takes part in the celebrations including people from other religions. Other major festivals are Dussehra, Sankrati, Ramzan, Christmas.

Transportation

Being located on one of the major routes in Mudigonda Mandal, Vanam Vari Krishnapuram is well connected by roadways. From Khammam, APSRTC buses going towards Vallabhi/Pedamandava/Vallapuram run through the village.
