Vinod Kumar Saroj (Born 1 July 1980) is an Indian politician from Bela Pratapgarh, India. He is twice time elected independent Member of Legislative Assembly, presently since 2012, representing the Babaganj assembly constituency of Pratapgarh of Uttar Pradesh.[2]

Education and background

Saroj was born on 1 July 1980 in Pratapgarh. He is son of late politician Ramnath Saroj, who served as two time legislator from 1996 to 2007, winning the assembly elections 1996 and 2002 for Bihar constituency of district Pratapgarh.[3]

He is pursued Bachelor of Arts from Allahabad University and later graduated with Master's degree in Arts (M.A.) from Chhatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj University in 2001.

Personal life

Vinod married to Smt. Kushum Saroj and the couple has blessed with two daughter and one son.

Career

Vinod Saroj was elected as legislator for the first time in 2007 from Bihar constituency by margin 47.22% votes, defeating nearest Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Krishna Chand. In Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, 2012, Saroj was re-elected as MLA but from Babaganj assembly constituency and defeated BSP's Mahendra Kumar. He was won by the margin 42060 votes in 2012.[4]
