WKTJ-FM is an American FM radio station licensed to Farmington, Maine and on air as Big Hits 99-3 KTJ. The station has been on the air since 1973 but an AM station (co-owned and off the air since the early 1990s) with the same call letters dates back to 1959. WKTJ is the only commercial radio station located in Franklin County, Maine (Non-Commercial radio stations WRGY in Rangeley and University of Maine at Farmington's WUMF also originate from the county). With it being the only local radio station in the Farmington area, the station is widely listened to in the community, with live DJs throughout the day, local features and local sports during the Fall and Winter months.

Programming

The Phone Mart is a daily call in radio flea market. It provides listeners a chance to hear items that are to be bought and sold by callers. It is open to all non-businesses. It airs three times weekdays and once on Saturday mornings.

Programming history

WKTJ features Big Hits. In January 2005 the station relaunched as "Big Hits 99-3 KTJ" with a classic hits/Oldies format and still with local shows such as The General Store Variety Hour and The Maine Music Hour. The station also carries Boston Red Sox baseball and sports from local high schools. Beginning September 2011, WKTJ shifted to its current adult hits format.
