The western whistler (Pachycephala occidentalis) is a species of bird in the Pachycephalidae family, which is found in southwestern Australia. It was variably considered a subspecies of a widespread Australian golden whistler (P. pectoralis), but molecular studies suggested a closer relationship to the mangrove golden whistler (P. melanura).
