Will Loconto is a musician and composer based in Austin, Texas. He composed music for various video game soundtracks including Daikatana and was a keyboardist for the band Information Society.[1][2]

Career

In 1989, Loconto replaced Jimron Goff as lead vocalist for the band T42,[3][4] a Dallas area band that began in the Deep Ellum music scene in the late 1980s.[4] T42 released the album Intruder on Columbia Records in 1992.[5][6] Loconto quit T42 in 1993 in order to be the keyboardist in the industrial band Information Society.[1][2][3]

Loconto left Information Society to work for Dallas-based computer game developer ION Storm as a sound designer and composer. He was part of the initial design team for the game John Romero’s Daikatana.[1][2][7] He left ION Storm in November 1998 and co-founded PC and video game developer Third Law Interactive, distributed by publishing company Gathering of Developers the same year.[7] Through Third Law Interactive, Loconto developed sound for Kiss: Psycho Circus: The Nightmare Child.[7][8]

Loconto’s song "The Heist," which was the theme for puzzle game Pictureka Museum Mayhem, was nominated for a 2009 Game Audio Network Guild Award in the "Best Original Instrumental" category.[9][10]

In 2011, Loconto and Assaf Rinde were nominated for a Hollywood Music in Media Award in the category "Original Score for Video Game" for their work on first-person shooter game Rage.[11] T42 reunited in 2011 to release the album Voltage! and play several live shows.[4][6] He currently runs Will Loconto Music and Sound.[12]

Drew Haley and Will Loconto were nominated for a 2014 Hollywood Music in Media Award in the "Contemporary Christian/Gospel" category for their song, It’s Gonna Be a Good Day.[13] This song has also been nominated for The 14th Annual Independent Music Awards in the "Contemporary Christian/Gospel" category for 2015.[14]
